What Have We Been Up To

Summer 2026

Over this past summer of 2026, Woodkern appeared across the festival circuit of the South-West. Starting all the way back in May, we, including individual acts within the group, performed at the first ever Fisherman’s Friends Festival on the secondary stage, it kicked off a summer of incredible gigs and festivals. The first of which was at Wheal Martyn, near St. Austell, then St. Rumons Club in Redruth, then up to Wiltshire for Trowbridge Festival, over to East Devon for two gigs at Sidmouth Folk Week, up near Exeter for a busy weekend at Beautiful Days Festival where members of the band performed as a part of Rev Hammers ‘Old Crow Folk Club’ on the Friday, a set in the Fiddlers arms on Saturday, and opening the annual Sunday service of the Bar-Steward sons of Val Doonican, introduced as the choir of the Grandchildren of Val Doonican. We ended the summer on a high with a brilliant gig supporting Angilene Morrison in St. Endellion Church. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all those who have supported us over the Summer and we can honestly not believe that our little event in Perranarworthal Village Hall back in December led to a festival season we will never forget.
